Cost: Free!
How many children attended: 4 (ages 7 months - 4yrs)
What I brought and why:
- 1 chenille blanket...perfect for pictures and keeping our bottoms dirt free
- Wooden blocks to help entertain Reed and our other small friends! Wooden blocks are not only fun chew toys for a teething baby but they also improve small motor skills. Stacking the blocks several high and letting your baby knock them over also helps to develop your child's sense of cause and effect.
- Captain Calamari. Why? Because we never leave home without him!
- A few additional toys for Reed to share with his friends.
What I should have brought:
- 1 quilt instead of chenille. After one 2 hour trip to the park, 4 stomping, rolling children and a whole lot of mulch my poor chenille blanket will now live in the trunk of my SUV as a back up park blanket! Ya live and ya learn, I guess!
This was our first trip to Princess Anne Park. Princess Anne Park is a quiet little park in the middle southern portion of the city. It has several covered areas, great for picnics and small birthday parties! The play equipment is very faded, or loved as I like to say, but appears to be in great condition with several different slides, monkey bars, and swings.
As soon as we arrived we ran straight to the swings! Honestly, Reed would play on the swings all day if I'd let him! He enjoyed being pushed by his new friend, A. Later, we spread out the blanket, broke out our blocks and had a little lunch in the shade.

Looks like a ton of fun. We need more groups for parents in every state. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove me some playdates! Looks like the day was perfect and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves :-) One thing I take EVERYWHERE with me ( and I do get laughs for it) is my first aid bag- stuffed with everything from tweezers, ice packs, wraps, to emergency water, heat blankets, fire tents, and of course the small basics, alchoal wipes, sesame street band-aids, toweletts, whistle and on and on......let me know when the next play date it, we would love to join you!
ReplyDeleteA first aid bag is a great idea! I used to keep on in the trunk of my car but some where along the line it disappeared! Time to put together a new one.
