Meet Laura

       Well hello there! My name is Laura. I was born, raised and currently reside in Virginia Beach, VA. My husband and I welcomed our son Reed September 6th, 2011! Reed is such a delight and fills our home with so much excitement... and noise!

      I am currently a stay a home mom looking for new and innovative ideas to bond, entertain and teach my son, as well as other children, through play. The idea for Perfect Playdates developed through much brainstorming over how to connect and reach out to other mom's who  want to do the same.

       I have always had a passion for entertaining friends and family over the holidays and special occasions. As a amateur event coordinator I have planned a total 6 weddings, 3 bridal showers, a few baby showers here and there, countless birthday parities and family get togethers! I have experience planning events with budgets as high as $35,000 and as low as $20! There is no event or play date too small for me to take on! I look forward to bringing you creative ideas your whole family can enjoy!

     In this blog I will share with you a variety of play date and party ideas, how I carried them out, what the budget was and where I spent the money. If you're not the creative type or simply don't have the time, I've got that covered too!*

     When I'm not chasing my son around the house I spend my free time as a program coordinator and coaching a local youth cheerleading squad(s)! Prior to becoming a domestic diva I worked in dentistry for 8 years, the last 2 years specializing in pediactric dental hygiene. As part of my career in the dental field I developed an educational dental health program for children ages 2 - 10 years old. This program is offered to schools every Feburary (to learn more about National Children's Dental Health Month click here!). I have visited more then 20 of our local public and private daycares, pre-schools and grade schools teaching children the importance of brushing their teeth, making proper food choices and the basic biology of how cavities develop and what to do about them.
